Question: What kinds of batteries are recommended for hearing aids, and what is the typical battery life?

Answer: Most hearing aids require zinc-air batteries, which can last from three days to three weeks, depending on their size and usage. Each battery is packaged with an adhesive tab that must be peeled off prior to use. Once removed, oxygen mixes with the zinc oxide to activate the battery. It’s recommended to wait up to one minute before inserting it in the hearing aid in order get a full charge. The smaller the battery, the shorter the lifespan. Bluetooth® streaming will also drain a battery quicker. Patients continually tell us our batteries last longer than most, and this is probably related to the brand and freshness. Try them for yourself and see.
